Whenever I take part in a class or training I always like to know a bit about the person at the front so I thought it only right that I write a bit about myself hear so that you have an idea about who I am when you are considering booking classes.
I qualified as an art teacher nearly twenty years ago but soon realised that my passion was in textiles and especially fashion textiles.
I taught this in large secondary schools in both London and Hertfordshire and my last post was as Head Of Textiles at Dame Alice Owens School in Potters Bar.
Here I continued to teach GCSE Textiles and established a new A Level course which was very successful. I ran fashion shows and introduced many of the students to the fashion industry and I'm pleased to say some have gone to study it further and entered the fashion world itself!
When we moved to Sussex seven years ago I stopped working to look after my children but returned to teaching three years ago with the Adult College for Rural East Sussex (ACRES) teaching a variety of dressmaking courses.
For the last year I have also been teaching at Ratton School in Eastbourne but I now hope to concentrate on my own classes locally.
I have a small studio at home where I can both work and teach so if you'd like one to one
tuition just let me know!
